Yes it is the crimson ghost and yes it was a danzig ripp off from that movie for his band the misfits.
Glenn has a long line of rip offs..including that DANZIG skull he is so fondly using to this very day....he stole that from a MARVEL COMIC called crystar the crystal warrior issue#8 CHECK THAT OUT by google and you will see that using stolen ideas/work seems to be a excellent idea to promote your band

I just got mine. The Crimson Ghost was not bright pink as shown here, it was actually a dark red, which I actually prefer.

This is true.And every real misfits fan should know this. But it has come to be associated with Misfits ever since they adopted itas their symbol. Just like once the Nazi stole the swatsika, it never had the same meaning again and was always associated with hatred not the original meaning of life, sun, power, strength, and good luck used by many cultures for 3000 years before the holocust.

1940's black and white film called the Crimson Ghost. Mad Scientist dresses up like a skeleton and tries to rule the world with Nuclear weapons. Do your homework kids! Misfits took it as their logo more than 30 years later. Awesome shirt.
