The reason why Han could travel the Kessel run in 12 parsecs is that the millenium falcon has strong hyperdrive engines which allow him to travel closer to the event horizon of the black hole, thus allowing him to travel a shorter distance.

A parsec is an astronomical unit of distance, the Parallax ARc SECond, not a unit of time. The thoroughly confusing (and confused) statement by Han has been explained in the novels (and thus has become part of canon) to mean that on his way out of Kessel Han skirted super close to the black hole cluster in the Maw. Star Wars nerd fo' life!

Correct. THe thing is Han used the Maw (and its black holes) to take a short cut, hence why 12 parsecs is outrageously short lol.
