Bubble Bobble wrote This was the cheat code on bubble bobble arcade machine to get full power up speed boosts etc
(Love the T's hate the beard)
Nintendork wrote There's supposed to be another BA at the end. Trust me, just played Contra the other day. And it gives you 30 lives not 9 or 99 like some of these turds are saying...
Roger wrote They forgot to add Select before Start.
Martin wrote Funny t, not very attractive though. Or especially retro looking. Also, I see some debate here, and yeah, it's the Konami code, used in several of their games all the way to the snes. It's not taken from a song lyric, come on...
fucking nigers wrote you all are fucking retarded its the konami code
jf wrote In tetris you got the Line bar with this code :)
star dellera wrote Yes, the correct way to get 99 extra lives on Contra is as follows:
Try it for yourself.
McNealey wrote When technology has advanced to the point that humans have implantable computers, entering the Konami code will start the zombie apocalypse.
I accidentally all of the internet… wrote I think it’s from contra… at least that’s what the title says… not positive though.
Ashley wrote It's the Konami code! In Contra it gives you extra lives but you don't get 30. I remember getting 9 lives...and anyway it wasn't just Contra that used it..
Sarah Vanderworker wrote Received this in the mystery 10 pack in heather gray :)
saskanotch wrote Your all F'n wrong its up,up,down,down,left,right,left,right,A,B,B,A,Start.... Select Start for two players
DaviCoro wrote Oh my God...the code is:
When the Contra Title screen start to apear enter this code as fast as you can:
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
Congrats... you complete the code. Now you can deside if you want One or Two players mode.
dddddeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrppppppp wrote just like many other things in pop culture there is no one right answer people, this combination was also used by mac lethal in a song
meh wrote JUNO BITCHES
Matt wrote Hey dummies, It's up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. That's it. The Start button begins the game. Pressing select before hand just enters 2 player mode, but that's after the fact.
Adamw wrote Contra code
big tom wrote exact code but if you want it for two people you do the code but then add a \"select\" before the \"start\"
BOB FILLMOURE wrote To anyone claiming this is incorrect, I direct you to a lovely thing called the internet (or even a fucking console if you still even have the game anymore), and do a little bit of research before going off on this t-shirt... And to those who say this is from a song, your clearly not a gamer. And everyone who says its from something other than Contra, go buy an NES and play that game.... Hopefully being a teenager won't inhibit your ability to ask mom for money.
Joey Pimentel wrote just Start is for 1 player. Select Start was for 2 player.
long time playin wrote I feel it was select then start. but hey I'm like 30 now so I'm to lazy to look it up
Your Name wrote It's also a Mortal Kombat 3 cheat code. My console of choice was the Super Nintendo. Laughed when I saw this shirt.
wait.... wha wrote its up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right b, a, start select
Good Music for Geeks wrote Haha what came to my mind was Up, Up, Down, Down, by Kirby Krackle, but then I suppose they're kinda obscure :P Maybe you all should check them out, Haha
APACK wrote Sunshine, go be dumb elsewhere. I brought a few facts with me today.
Release of Moldy Peaches CD: 5/6/2001
Release of Contra: 1987
While I'm here, I will 1-up all of you Moldy Peaches fans. They not only took the lyrics from a video game, but also stole it from a title of an Ataris song. Which happens to be titled, "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A Start". The Ataris CD was launched on 2/6/2001...giving the Moldy Peaches exactly 3 months to piggy back off of The Ataris.
ContraGamer wrote Did no one realize the background in the product picture of the woman wearing this shirt is the first level in Contra??
my butt wrote i farted
dan wrote I'm almost certain there was another BA in the code... up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A, start... almost positive
Maria wrote the shirt is awesome
it sucks that most people seem to know thew code only form a song, instead for its initial use
Liam wrote Well considering you find this around a bunch of other video game related products of course its a reference to cheat codes... I thought it was the level select for sonic the hedgehog but i think that was up down left right A + start... Who cares if its song lyrics they clearly took the code from a game because it worked well for the song and they probably were gamers.
